So far so good I was trying to find the best all around emergency food for my 3 day bag, and so sampling these was a must on the list. So far so good. The packaging is water/air tight, and is individually wrapped on the inside. The flavor is reminicent of the crust from a no-bake cheese cake, barely even a whisp of coconut flavoring. The texture is about the same as a gram cracker crust as well, and the coconut inside is noticeable in tiny bits. Feels a bit on the greasy side, but since it’s ment to give you a long burn and satisfied feeling, that’s to be expected. I wouldn’t wanna eat these every day for a month, but I could live off of these for three days. Size is pretty compact, 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ x 2″. weight is 1.6 lbs. They called it “non-thirst provoking” and I’d agree, ate it 20 minutes ago, and not really any more or less thirsty then I was before I tried it.

Great Taste – Great Mylar Packaging – Great Disaster Food Here at HANS Survival we tested a few of the major emergency food ration bars and the S.O.S 3600 Calorie Food Bar had the greatest packaging. The outside mylar packaging is tightly sealed around the food and is tough. We dropped one full package from four stories onto a cement sidewalk and it withstood the fall without cracking or penetrating the mylar packaging. We also let that same package sit in salt water for seven days and six nights in direct sunlight at 80 degrees plus to resemble the ocean environment and it tasted just like new when eaten. We also tested it in the cold and snow for five days and tasted just like new. Now if you where to leave it in the environment for up to a year or so it probaly wouldn’t have that new taste to it, they are made to be stored and provided when an emergency occurs. Once you open the mylar packaging and get to the food, the food is seperated into nine indivdual bars in which each is seperatly packaged in plastic. They have a cinnamon – coconut…
